In addition to producing the catalog of chips for the club auction next month, Howard Herz has come out with an outstanding color catalog of chips for his Gaming Archaeology Auction No. 27. This sale closes Tues, July 28.
For collectors of Lake Tahoe chips, there are gobs of Harrahs and Harveys chips. I collect these clubs and found at least 35 chips that I've never seen before! Great old SMKEY chips, as well as some varieties of the brass-cores for the specialty collector. Also some NCV chips for those of us who collect these worthless items <g>.
For the Atlantic City collector, there's a copy of Black's CLA-2.5b, the Del Webb's Claridge chip with brown surrounding the coin-inlay. Howdy estimates it at $1500+!
For history, Howdy has pictured all the Kings Crown chips, both the real chips that were never used, and the repro chips (that of course were never used either). Not that these are valuable chips, but having pictures of them is of great value to the Las Vegas collector.
Total of 460 lots in this sale, of which about 350 are Nevada.
Also, there will be another archaeological chip dig in Minden in November. Get the catalog and you will find out when and where. The first one was great fun!
For a catalog, contact Howard or Kregg Herz at Gaming Archaeology, Box 1000, Minden, NV 89423 (702) 782-8736
Promotional considerations have been paid by the sponsor of this ad. These will not, however, prevent me from bidding against you in this auction, provided the phones on Maui are working on the 28th <g>.
Good Luck!
