The last three or four weeks have really worn me out at work. Known for its serene surroundings, Mesquite was the first place I thought of for a rest on my day off. I grabbed my new digital camera and my wife and I set out for Mesquite. We haven't been up that way in a good five years. The last time we were there, the Virgin River and the Peppermill were the only casinos in the town. Now there is six and possibly seven (Stateline Casino???). Everyone was accommodating for the chips I asked for. What do you think the pit boss would say in a Las Vegas casino, if you ask for $5 in quarter chips, because you are a collector? They even scattered a few slot cards around to make it a little more interesting for me. All in all it was a very relaxing day and I brought back a few chips, slot cards, slot card bungies, casino pens, match books, and NO roulette chips.
