What you heard was simply not true. Mr. Cutler DID NOT have to talk in front of the group since he choose to deliver to each individual present a four page "Proposal For Positive Change". This document detailed Mr. Cutler's commentary involving our local chapter and our national organization. I personally found the document lacking in original thought and nothing more than a rehash of ideas already addressed by the national board and the local chapter board.
Believe me Rene, and the people on this BBS can vouch for what I say, I LOVE a good discussion and/or battle of words. However, the discussions that took place last night, in my opinion, were not sincere discussions for change! They were directed, again in my opinion - and others - to cause dissension among our chapter members.
I was sorry our national president, Archie Black, was not present. I'm sure he would have his eyes opened as to what is going on. As I stated in earlier posts, many of us on this BB are friends. I know it sometimes doesn't appear that way when the discussions get hot and heavy.<g> But what I say is true. Archie and I, Bob Ginsburg and I, and others have had our differences. However, you will find us very united when we believe our club is being threatened for whatever reason.
Last night was not pretty. I do not appreciate my friends like Janice & Jerry O'Neal being held up to ridicule under the guise of proposals for positive change. Nor do I appreciate men like Bill Akeman Jr., who have given much to our chapter, portrayed as some sort of profiteer.
I have given much to our local chapter. I do not expect others who have given nothing telling me how and what we should do with our funds. Next time, these people will think they grabbed a tiger by the tail. I'm just not going to sit there and take it as nicely as I did. Take care Rene, Best, Jim
