Hi Don; I can't tell you much about the $1 Condado Beach scan that you posted, other than to say I have one also and have seen the same chip in several other collections. I guess we'll have to wait for the word from the other book author to tell us about it. At first blush, I just figured it was a rank amatuer whodoctored up this chip. Now there is some sort of claim as to it being genuine? I would like to hear that story. I just don't know for sure, but I'm very suspicious about it being genuine. I do have the same pink chip without the magic marker inserts and I suppose you probably do as well. On the other side of my marked insert specimen I notice that the three white suits not covered by the red stripe are as crudely filled in with red ink as the edge inserts themselves. What is YOUR read on this chip? Personally, I believe it's a fantasy chip. If it is genuine, the only logical explanation could be that it was doctored by the casino to distinguish it more readily so as not to confuse it with the orange chip of the same design which is very close in color to the pink one and the two chips in play at the same time could be confusing to the dealer so the casino may have marked the pink ones.. I have this same $1 chip in seven different colors, so they were probably used on one of those tables with the spinning wheel and round white ball. (sorry I can't say the other word on this BB) <vbg>. Your guess is as good as mine. Regards, Archie
