I am sure most readers already knew your answer.<g> You and I are seperated by different beliefs in how a casino should be run. You have changed inorder to keep working - I have retired inorder to maintain my beliefs and work for myself. I find it very interesting that most houses will go back to doing something the old way when they find the "new" approach simply doesn't work. I find it very interesting houses in the past did very well. Yet today you tell me poker must show a department profit to survive, I am very familiar with the FQC. I believed at the time it was well run. It never started on time but than again most other tournamnet do not start on time either.<LOL>
The records you maintain are from ONE house. Hardly representative of the poker industry. I will state once more - Poker was never put on the floor with a profit expectation until Howard Hughes came to Nevada. Today the suits try it and in a short time eliminate it. When the bottom line does not go up with expectation they scratch their head and call people like me. Say what you wish but these are the facts. Poker will not die. It is simply on temp. hold until the corporate bureaucrats realize they know very little about the industry they run.
One last point - longevity in an industry does not gurantee knowledge about that industry. Study of the industry and application of its concepts is what makes the difference. A larger drop is not why California card rooms make a profit. If what I say is true, than what is it???? Best, Jim
