Travis, count me in as a chipper interested in this thread also. I look for casinos that have poker rooms. There wouldn't be $1 Colorado chips if there wasn't poker played at some time in a casino's history (with the exception of a few 'sets').
I've worked as a prop, set my own hours. They told me that when ever I could be there, I was on the clock. That tells me that the casino I was working for was realizing a profit on the rake, not only because they had good dealers (30+ hands an hour), the earlier we could start a game, the better. ...and many players were someone who brought friends or family with them who didn't play poker, but still gambled.
