THE SLOT PAY TABLES DID CHANGE, at the Horseshoe. They took out all but a few of the 100% payback slots. Maybe all of them.
You do not seem to understand that poker does not make money. When I say MONEY, I mean in comparisson to the amount of floor space it takes up. An eight table poker room is real lucky to break even. Poker players are worth about $5 per hour to a casino in an 8 table room. $40 for eight hours of play. Take off at least the cost of 4 drinks, salaries and associated taxes, many other expences, and a comp to eat. WHAT IS LEFT? I have 12 years of the most detailed numbers on these figures.
Poker players are their own worst enemy. They want everything. They get extra's whenever possible, and give it to the breathers that just hang around.
You will see the closing of more small rooms. BET on it. The rakes in poker rooms downtown have not been raised in poker since I did it 11 years ago. Poker players say they will not stand for it. Do you think expences have stayed the same for 11 years?
I know poker numbers. They are not pretty, and unjustifible in a LV casino.
Poker is a business in California and players pay a high price to play the game when compared to LV.
I imagine chippers are not interested in this thread, so we will discuss this further over lunch someday, ON ME.
