Hey Gene!
Sorry about getting up on my soap box (no pun intended..)... And I hope you don't mind me taking words out of your mouth!?!
One thing I didn't say earlier (yes, I can go on, and on, and on....) is I will remove "munge" (that black stuff that accumulates on the surface of some chips and makes them "stick" to each other... YUCK!!!), with an exacto knife held at an extreme angle - so I will not cut the chip! If the chip is a Paulson, then I stroke the blade in the direction of the cloth marks. This also works well taking the "munge" out in the H&C design, and the circle around the rim... Only this time I keep the blade 90 degrees from the surface. Now, I'm not saying this is the best thing to do to clean the "munge" ouff - and only one with very steady hands should do this.... (They don't call me stubby for nothing...)
Well I've rambled long enough.
Take care, and again I hope you don't mind me taking words out of your mouth!
Dick
