Archie, much of what you say is true. As I stated before - you and I have disagreed upon direction not anything basic. It is also true, I do not care for your roulette taking. However, I have never said you did not love the club. The "love" aspect is what I am afraid will be missing in the future. I do not like what I see over the horizon. You more than anyone know what I am talking about!!! If you do not want to run again - OK. The use of computor was one of my biggest complaints against you. Now it isn't an issue. The lack of exhibits at the convention, a library, educational material, etc. all fixed!!! I am afraid if certain people are elected - other officers may leave. I am also afraid other MEMBERS may leave. In my opinion it is the clubs darkest hour. You are entitled to believe it isn't - so be it!!
I cannot run for any office at this time. I stated in a post on Prodigy that I do not have any desire for political office. I cannot change my mind and maintain any credibility with the members. That is why I have asked you to run for one more term. I realize you have given much and have not been fully appreciated until now.
You and I have disagreed upon how our budget surplus should be spent. I am afraid after the next election there will BE NO surplus to disagree about. The members will have a difficult time stopping the spending of this money. In addition - NOW maybe you understand why I wanted the check and balance upon the board for by-law changes. Without this check and balance it will be very difficult to stop activity that may be harmful to the club. I never believed the changes I proposed to our constitution were necessay as long as the current officers we have served. Now I believe thoses changes are needed more than ever.
