Gene,
I have nothing but fond memories of Vegas World. Vegas World and Bob Stupak were my introduction to Las Vegas and to casino gambling. Some friends and I had begun to play some pretty serious blackjack around the kitchen table once or twice a week. It was an expensive way to learn how to play, but at least I learned. A couple of us decided it would be fun to go to Vegas since we were such experts. <g> We took Bob up on his $398 (I think) offer, for the room and $400 in actual value chips. I never did the deal he offered with the "play 'em once and you lose 'em" chips.
I had no idea about comps or anything. We were just having a good time. I learned to play craps there. One of the first few times I played I kept the dice for more than 30 minutes. It was wild. Everyone else made A LOT more money than I did. I was real green and didn't have much of an idea what I was doing. When I was done one of the dealers said that anyone that didn't have a stack of black chips by now just didn't know how to shoot craps. I had a stack of them, but not a very big stack. Several guys had their trays full of black chips.
