Hi again Jim; You sure do have a way with words. "Abandon the club.......?" Did I say that? Don't think so! All I've stated is that I will not seek re-election as President next spring. Now that I've "come out of the dark ages" as you put it, I've seen the light! I'm going to give someone else a shot at having all the fun such as I've enjoyed for the past ten years as President. You said you only enjoyed it the past two years. Hell, Jim.... I didn't plan on doing this job for the rest of my life! If the new President calls upon me for help, I'll be there. I'll even consider an appointment to a committee or two. "Darkest Hour" you say? How's that? This upcoming convention at the Orleans is the largest casino collectibles show in the world with 94 dealer tables, 10 exhibitors, another great upcoming auction; better not miss the Early Bird reception on Wednesday eve.! I don't take credit for that. Mike Skelton deserves all the recognition for that feat. We'll probably be over 100 tables next year.... even with a new Convention Chair. We're in solid financial shape thanks to some prudent officers and a damn good honest, competent, Treasurer. We've got a sizeable membership.... the largest specialty club in the American Numismatic Association.... yet I understand that one of the announced candidates is planning to increase our ranks to "40,000 strong" as he "dosen't like the direction the club has taken". "New blood" is what I hear the membership calling for. Besides, who wants a common "chip thief" as President anyhow?
Jim; I think you ought to consider throwing your hat into the ring and save us from all this dispair! <V VBG>. Archie
