Over the weekend there was an internet wide security breach for ISP running the Berkley System software on their mail servers.

A patch was released and implemented early today (Monday) and mail servers that were effected came back on line.

I don't know if this was you problem, but it affected a lot of email out there for 2-3 days, mine included.
