When I first started I used gasoline (unleaded) (leaded is very unhealthy) to clean my chips. But then I found that smoking cigars (my other hobby) and gasoline didn't mix. Following the fire, I was unable to find the chip I was cleaning. To conserve my chip collection, I switched to other means of cleaning them. But then, it only cost about a $1.05 for a whole gallon of unleaded chip cleaner....
I really use paste toothpaste to clean chips, but I'm sure no one wants to hear about that again...
