Try this when you get a new slot card or have to replace one that you "lost". Obviously, this will only work if you don't have to show you drivers' license.
When I sailed on the Contessa this weekend, I filled out an application for a slot players card. I put down the name, "Meyer Lansky" with my correct address.I had to wait a minute or two before the gal behind the counter printed the card. When she was done, she called out "Meyer". I stood there like a jerk, & was then nudged by my wife. I replied, "That's me!" When I got to the Let it Ride table & gave the pit boss my card, so I could get rated, he looked at the card & said, "Boy that name sounds familiar". I laughed under my breath & told him that it was a common Jewish name. Next time I go on board, I think I will use Alphonse Capone. This idea was spurred by Chuck Smorse, when he got the "Rat Pack" cards. Just think of all the possiblities. I recall that there was a contest a few years ago in one of the gaming magazines or our own newsletter, that gave a chip or a small give away, for the most original name on a slot card. Why don't we try this at the Orleans in August! I'll kick in the chip, & we'll pick a panel of impartial bystanders to be the judges.
