I made a previous response regarding this subject, and didn't do so until a respected collector suggested that lifting stacks of 20 roulettes is preserving history. .....That collector replied second hand in response to another note that cooler heads might prevail at the convention. I guess that promoting what every casino that I've walked into that'll get you tossed out of, and if you get caught with a stack might find your butt in a felony charge (fraud by introducing the stack into another game at a higher value) is still okay as long as you don't get caught, there are real problems here.
I need the casino's approval to remove a chip. I buy them from the cage. If they tell me that I have to win them from the tables, I buy in. Like Mr. Perlowski said, Roulettes are bailment. They only have value at the table being played, and can't be bought or cashed out, or played ANYWHERE else in the casino. ...You just rent the color.
