most of these chips are Jeton's and are different then the US poker chip type of chip. The US versons are made to stack while the jetons are made to be thrown across the larger playing tables of the European casinos. When thrown they will usually stay on the number it land on without rolling across the table. The 5 stands for 5 francs and the number at the bottom is a control number for securety.
